Configure the Playback Database from the Spotlight Client
- Click Configure | Diagnostic server.
- Select Configure the Playback Database.
Select the Diagnostic Server
For federated Spotlight Diagnostic Server you will be prompted to select the Spotlight Diagnostic Server to configure. Each Spotlight Diagnostic Server has an independently configured Playback Database.
Configure the Playback Database
Store playback data for n days
Specify the number of days to store data in the Playback Database. The number of days corresponds to the number of days of history available to Playback. The default is seven days. The minimum is two days.
Instance
Specify the name of the SQL Server instance or Azure SQL Managed instance to host the playback database. Click the down arrow to list available instances.
Azure SQL Managed Instance Connection
Select Azure SQL Managed Instance Connection checkbox to display valid authentication types available for selected connection.
Authentication
Specify the authentication for Spotlight to use to connect to the Playback Database.
Select SQL Server authentication from the Authentication field and fill in the User and Password fields. The SQL Server user must have sufficient privileges to connect to the SQL Server instance or Azure SQL Managed instance hosting the Playback Database.
Select Microsoft Entra Password from the Authentication field and fill in the User and Password fields. Ensure the user is allocated as an admin user for Azure SQL Managed instance active directory.
Select Microsoft Entra Integrated from the Authentication field. User and Password fields are disabled for this authentication mode and will be using Dignostic Server credentials. Ensure the user is allocated as an admin user for Azure SQL Managed instance active directory.
Database
Specify the name of the Playback Database. By default the name is SpotlightPlaybackDatabase.
Create
Click Create to create a new Playback Database. For more information, see Create Playback Database dialog.
